Focus and Scope Metafora discuss about education, social and humanities in the form of field research, literature research, and reflection both theoretical and methodological. 1. In education includes research in the form of classroom action research and study theory about education and learning. 2. In social studies and humanities encompassing theoretical studies addressing social and humanities issues. The Journal of Metafora receive research-based articles or literature studies twice a year or every volume. Peer Review Process All articles received to Metaphors will be selected, read, and reviewed in a blind (peer review) by (a minimum) 2 reviewers who are experts in their expertise. Acceptance of articles depends on the content, authenticity, clarity of the description, and conformity with the objectives of the journal. The decision of the Editorial Board of the entry articles is acceptable without revision, received with minor revisions, received by major revision, or rejected. The results of review articles by reviewers will be notified to the author via email. The author is given an opportunity to revise his article in accordance with the reviewer's suggestion (and editor) no later than 4 weeks after the notification email. To prevent plagiarism, all articles received will be authenticated by using Turnitin anti-plagiarism software. No article processing and submission charges. All articles published in Metafora are open access by following the Creative Commons: Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International license. Full license can be found here ( disini ). Publication Frequency The Metafora Journal is a peer-reviewed journal that is managed and published by the Faculty of Social and Legal Studies of Universitas Negeri Surabaya. Peer Review Process New Language Dimensions follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and integrity of published research. The review process is designed to uphold academic excellence, promote critical engagement, and support the advancement of knowledge in the field. The review process consists of the following stages: Preliminary AssessmentAll submitted manuscripts undergo an initial screening by the Editor-in-Chief or  Editor to assess their alignment with the journal’s focus and scope. Manuscripts must meet the minimum publication standards and pass a plagiarism check using Turnitin. Submissions with a similarity index exceeding 20% or AI-generated text exceeding 20% will be either rejected outright or returned for revision. This stage may take 2 weeks at most. Reviewer AssignmentManuscripts that pass the preliminary screening are assigned to expert reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area. Peer Review ProcessReviewers conduct a comprehensive evaluation based on the journal’s assessment rubric, which includes criteria such as originality, theoretical contribution, methodological rigor, and clarity of argumentation. Reviewers provide detailed feedback and recommendations to the editorial team. Plagiarism CheckThe editorial team conducts a final plagiarism check before proceeding with editorial decisions. Initial Editorial DecisionBased on the reviewers’ evaluations, the Editor-in-Chief makes an initial decision, which may result in acceptance, minor revisions, major revisions, or rejection. Revision ProcessAuthors who receive a revision request must submit a revised version within one month. The revised manuscript will be reviewed again to ensure that all editorial and reviewer comments have been adequately addressed. If the revision is insufficient, the manuscript will be returned for further modification. Final Editorial DecisionThe editorial team conducts a final assessment to determine whether the revised manuscript meets the publication standards. Manuscripts failing to meet these standards may be rejected at this stage. ProofreadingBefore final acceptance, the author is responsible for final proofreading to ensure linguistic accuracy and content clarity. The manuscript must be returned with all necessary corrections while preserving the original meaning and structure. Typesetting and LayoutOnce the final manuscript is approved, it undergoes typesetting and formatting. The final proof is sent to the author for final review and approval before publication. The journal encourages authors to move beyond descriptive accounts and offer analytical insights that refine sociological concepts, interrogate structures of power, and illuminate the processes shaping contemporary societies. Artikel yang dianggap memiliki potensi dan sesuai dengan kriteria jurnal kemudian  diproses melalui Blind Review. Editor selanjutnya membuat keputusan berdasarkan rekomendasi reviewer dan akan menghasilkan sejumlah kemungkinan: (artikel) ditolak, perlu revisi kecil / besar, atau diterima.   All submitted articles are read by editorial staff. The articles which are considered of potential interest and fit journal criteria will go through Blind Review process. Ketiga bidang ini memang menjadi bidang spesialisasi yang ditekuni civitas akademika di FBS Unesa.  Pada Tahun 2016, tepatnya pada terbitan Jurnal Paramasastra Volume 3 Nomor 1 bulan Maret melakukan perbaikan dengan wajah/lay-out baru melalui penyesuaian standar dalam Open Jurnal System (OJS).
