The submitted manuscripts must demonstrate scientific excellence or novelty consistent with the journal's emphasis and scope.  All manuscripts that are submitted must be original works. It is advised that all authors perform similarity checks using plagiarism detection software (please use Turnitin or iThenticate to check the similarity). The similarity of the manuscripts submitted to this journal will also be checked by the editors using the Turnitin or iThenticate tools.  The publications submitted to this journal will undergo peer review by two or more experts from the Reviewer Acknowledgement. The reviewers provide useful scientific suggestions improving the contents of the manuscript. The final decision of acceptance of the manuscript is made solely by the Editor in Chief (along with the Editorial Board if required for consideration) according to reviewers’ critical comments. Journal History MATHEdunesa is a scientific journal of mathematics education published by the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Surabaya State University. This journal has been published online since 2012 using the previous OJS (OJS 2). It is published every four months, with each volume consisting of three issues. On 23 December 2020, MATHEdunesa was accredited as SINTA 4 up to volume 12, issue 2, 2023, and the article template in MATHEdunesa was updated to a new version starting from volume 12, issue 1. As part of its ongoing quality improvement efforts, since 3 April 2024, MATHEdunesa has successfully upgraded its accreditation status to SINTA 3. Focus and Scope Metafora discuss about education, social and humanities in the form of field research, literature research, and reflection both theoretical and methodological. 1. In Education: Focuses on civic education, social science education, political literacy, media literacy in learning, and pedagogical theories that shape social consciousness and citizenship. 2. In Social Studies and Humanities: Encompasses theoretical research and field studies addressing social, communication, political, and humanistic issues. The Journal of Metafora receive research-based articles or literature studies twice a year or every volume. Peer Review Process All articles received to Metaphors will be selected, read, and reviewed in a blind (peer review) by (a minimum) 2 reviewers who are experts in their expertise. Acceptance of articles depends on the content, authenticity, clarity of the description, and conformity with the objectives of the journal. The decision of the Editorial Board of the entry articles is acceptable without revision, received with minor revisions, received by major revision, or rejected. The results of review articles by reviewers will be notified to the author via email. The author is given an opportunity to revise his article in accordance with the reviewer's suggestion (and editor) no later than 4 weeks after the notification email. To prevent plagiarism, all articles received will be authenticated by using Turnitin anti-plagiarism software. Submissions with a similarity index exceeding 20% or AI-generated text exceeding 20% will be either rejected outright or returned for revision. This stage may take 2 weeks at most. Reviewer AssignmentManuscripts that pass the preliminary screening are assigned to expert reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area. Peer Review ProcessReviewers conduct a comprehensive evaluation based on the journal’s assessment rubric, which includes criteria such as originality, theoretical contribution, methodological rigor, and clarity of argumentation. Reviewers provide detailed feedback and recommendations to the editorial team. Plagiarism CheckThe editorial team conducts a final plagiarism check before proceeding with editorial decisions. Initial Editorial DecisionBased on the reviewers’ evaluations, the Editor-in-Chief makes an initial decision, which may result in acceptance, minor revisions, major revisions, or rejection. Revision ProcessAuthors who receive a revision request must submit a revised version within one month. The revised manuscript will be reviewed again to ensure that all editorial and reviewer comments have been adequately addressed. If the revision is insufficient, the manuscript will be returned for further modification. Final Editorial DecisionThe editorial team conducts a final assessment to determine whether the revised manuscript meets the publication standards. Manuscripts failing to meet these standards may be rejected at this stage. ProofreadingBefore final acceptance, the author is responsible for final proofreading to ensure linguistic accuracy and content clarity. The manuscript must be returned with all necessary corrections while preserving the original meaning and structure. Typesetting and LayoutOnce the final manuscript is approved, it undergoes typesetting and formatting. The final proof is sent to the author for final review and approval before publication. The author does not know who the reviewers is, but the reviewers knows who the author is. Acceptance of the article depends on the correctness of the content, the degree of originality, clarity of description, and compliance with the journal's objectives. Articles can be accepted without revisions, accepted with minor revisions, accepted with major revisions, or rejected. The results of article reviews by reviewers will be notified to the author via email. The author is given the opportunity to revise his article in accordance with the recommendations of reviewers (and editors) no later than 8 weeks after email notification. To prevent plagiarism, all articles submitted will be authenticated by using turnitin and / or iThenticate anti-plagiarism software. Plagiarism policy All articles sent to the Otopro journal must be the original work of an author who is free of plagiarism from any party. The level of similarity index is less than 20%. The article sent has never been published in any media and / or is not currently being or will be submitted for publication in any media. The author is fully responsible for the authenticity of the text sent. All forms of severe plagiarism violations will be banned by the author related to sending articles in the Otopro Journal for 3 years. Journal History This journal was first printed in November 2006. Starting in the May 2017 edition (Volume 12 No. 2 May 2017) switched to electronic journals but did not yet have an E-ISSN. Data availability on Google Scholar starts at volume 12 no 2 in 2017 due to changes in the journal page. Previously the journal page was https://journal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/jurnal_otopro changed to https://journal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/jo. In August 2019 it was officially registered electronically and carried out OJS management with a new look, layout and template.
